Allowing Access in Computer Privacy Settings

If your camera or microphone is not working properly, it is most likely due to a setting on your computer or internet browser. You will need to go into your computer’s privacy settings and/or your internet browser settings to give LEX Events permission to access your camera and microphone.

Please follow the below instructions to troubleshoot your audio and video based on your computer.

Instructions for enabling your audio and video for macOS:

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen.
  2. Go to your “System Preferences” and select “Security & Privacy” then “Privacy.”
  3. Select “Camera” from the left side navigation menu.
  4. Select the checkbox for your internet browser to allow the app to access your Camera.
  5. Select “Microphone” from the left side navigation menu.
  6. Select the checkbox for your internet browser to allow the app to access your Microphone.

Instructions for enabling your audio and video for Windows:

  1. Click on the start menu in the bottom left corner of your screen and select “Settings” then “Privacy.”
  2. Select “Camera” from the left side navigation menu.
  3. Under “Allow access to the camera on this device,” make sure that Camera access is on. If not, click “Change” to turn it on.
  4. Under “Allow desktop apps to access your camera,” toggle the controls on.
  5. Under “Choose apps that can access your camera,” toggle the controls for your internet browser on to access your Camera.
  6. Select “Microphone” from the left side navigation menu.
  7. Repeat steps 3-5 for your Microphone.

Instructions for enabling your audio and video for iOS (Mobile):

  1. On your iOS device, go to your event URL at https://www.events.lighting.exchange.
  2. Click the “Join Room” button for the room that you would like to join (or click “Reception Room” if you would like to go to Reception).
  3. When prompted, click the “Allow” button to allow LEX Events access to your Microphone and Camera.

If you did not see this button or declined access to your microphone and camera, simply close out of the event and reopen it in a new tab. Every time you enter a LEX Events room on your iOS device, your browser will request access to your microphone and camera.

Instructions for enabling your audio and video for Android (Mobile):

  1. On your Android device, open your browser of choice and go to your event URL at https://www.events.lighting.exchange.
  2. Click the “Join Room” button for the room that you would like to join (or click “Reception Room” if you would like to go to Reception).
  3. When prompted, click the “Allow” button to allow LEX Events access to your Microphone and Camera.

If you did not see this button or declined access to your microphone and camera, simply close out of the event and reopen it in a new tab. Every time you enter a LEX Events room on your Android device, your browser will request access to your microphone and camera.
